"Songwriters Showcase HOA #5 w/ Sara Corbin" Corel - Plus

Songwriters Showcase #5

Today I am sharing a Digital Collage made in Picasa 3.9 from screen captures of the:

"Songwriters Showcase HOA #5 w/ Sara Corbin" On Google+:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ePB2k_8Fsow

Performing were +Jonathan Blackshire , +Cecilee Linke , +Matty James  and the Cutthroat Reef Irish group +Derek Pollak  with +Sara Corbin  finishing out the show. The patter was fun and the music was upbeat and everyone did some really good performances as directed by Jonathan.

This was streamed to YouTube and I did the captures there. I opened them with Corel PhotoPaint New From Clipboard and applied an old-fashioned photo effect with Filter Forge' Photo Effects. I also posted them on Jonathan Blackshire's Event Page one at a time.

I kept the captures relatively small for the Event Page. And decided to create the Collage in Picasa. I used the Mosaic style collage on an 8.5x11 background. Picasa fitted them into the Mosaic automatically. I then added a slight border in brown off setting the old fashioned Sepia Photo look and feel.

I resized the large collage file to a display size and added my signature in white using PhotoPaint's Resample, and Invert on the signature file using the property Add for transparency.

"Vintage Postage Stamps from Greece 2" Digital Collage - CorelDRAW - Plus

Vintage Postage Stamps from Greece

These "Vintage Postage Stamps from Greece," were found in my Cigar Box Stamp Collection. As I am sorting the stamps I have found most of them to have been canceled, used. A slight disappointment for the values of vintage stamps are higher if they are pristine, never been used at all, except for collection.

Using my Canon MP495 I scanned the stamps in at 300dpi. I used Corel PhotoPaint as my "holding pen," then I opened CorelDRAW to align them and to resize them. I copied and pasted each stamp into DRAW. As you can see that they are not original sizes. I wanted to make a real digital collage with them, so I adjusted to my eye. You may notice that some of them were on Airmail envelopes, I left them like that for the realism.

After I adjusted them I copied to the clipboard and pasted them back into PhotoPaint. I used the Tone Curve to deepen the colors. Then I used the Wand selection tool for the white space and then selecting a background tile I filled with the Fill tool that space. I saved the large file and resampled for display. I added my signature and saved this iteration.

Mosaic Collage - Multiple Guitars

Recently I did some research on plug-ins for Paint.NET and discovered many free filter and adjustment plug-ins. Today I used one of the new ones called Mosaic Maniac Collage Paint.

First I took six photographs of guitars, taken by myself with my Canon Rebel, and made a collage of them in Picasa 3. Saving that I opened Paint.NET and applied the filter described above. It takes the contents of a folder of images and applies them in a collage fashion using the photograph collage as a basis for the way it applies colors.

As you can see it results in an image that is both a collage of photographs but a mosaic of images. I saved that file and opened PhotoPaint and a grunge background. I superimposed the mosaic collage over that as an object and applied the Object Property of Multiply to allow the color and texture to show through.

I merged all layers and objects to form the image of Multiple Guitars in a Mosaic Collage.
