"Dancers" Digital Collage - Corel PhotoPaint - Corel PSP Pro X3

Dancers

I took some time to browse in Picasa 3.9 in my Dover Publications and Free Vintage Clip Art folder. I have over 1,000 pieces of art in the folder and it took some time for inspiration to hit me.

I found the pieces you see in today's image. A floral like background, a woman and man's faces and the dancers silhouette. I opened the floral in Corel PSP Pro X3 and resized it to a 10 x 5.8 inches 300dpi background. I then saved that and opened in Corel's PhotoPaint. There, and from Picasa, I copied and pasted and erased around the faces, placing them opposite each other.

I searched for the "Dancers," silhouette and copied and pasted that and used the property Multiply, then resized to make them the centerpiece in the image. I merged all, used the Tone Curve and upped the color saturation, and added my signature, Then saved the large file, resampled it for display and saved that. I looked at the enlargement in Picasa 3.9

I decided to use Picasa 3.9's Museum Mat for a frame, I applied that, adjusted the mat color to blue and saved that file separately.

It was a simple Digital Collage project with pleasant results.

"The Dancer and Her Mother" Corel PhotoPaint Corel PSP Pro X3

The Dancer and Her Mother

I had gotten this colorful coffee stained crumpled paper texture (off the web) for a background and this is where I began today. I opened with Corel PhotoPaint and upped the saturation for a boost to the colors. I browsed in Picasa 3 to my Dover Publications sampler folder. I found these sketches of an old woman and a Dancer and cut them out to place them on the background texture. I used the property Multiply for transparency and applied the Tone Curve to darken the sketches.

I altered their sizes to fit and placed them. Also from Dover I used sketches of hands in the same manner, placing them on the collage. I found an Art Nouveau banner and placed that as the bottom of the piece. I also used some sheet music to match the Dancer theme.

I saved my large file with my signature and opened it in Corel PSP Pro X3 where I added the ornate frame. I feel that the ornate frame adds credence to the digital collage process and results. I resized for display here and saved that file.

Rose Leaf Rag - Vintage Typography and Art Deco Design - PhotoPaint

A simple Art Deco background with some Vintage Typography and a couple of scanned in drop caps is in today's image.

I took the background from my Dover Clip Art collection and added to it a front piece of Scott Joplin's Rose Leaf Rag sheet music. I added a couple in vintage clothing that appear to be dancing together.

I adjusted the color with the Tone Curve and upped the saturation. Then I added a border as a small mat and a frame using the wand to select the secondary border. I applied the 3D Bevel to the second border for the framing.

I saved the file for presentation here with my signature.

Line Art - Line Dancing - Paint.NET - PhotoPaint

Line Dancing has been a favorite for a long time. While attending a Graduation Party I took a couple of photographs of the younger crowd dancing. The theme was a Mexican fiesta, with a lot of ethnic food and fun.

I used one of Mayang's Textures for the background and altered the photograph to a ink line drawing in Paint.NET. I opened both in PhotoPaint and merged them using th Object Property> Color Burn> on the dancing to make it transparent.

I also used the Tone Curve on it to darken and give depth to the grunge texture. I added a film Frame from Filter Forge's Frames and gave it a wider black border using Papersize in PhotoPaint. All in all a simple project for your perusal.
