"Grunge 6 and 12 String Guitar Collage" Picasa - Corel - Plus

6 and 12 String Guitar Collage

Using my Canon Rebel XTI DSLR I shot a number of angled photographs of our two guitars. My Seagull C12 Cedar 12-String and my son's Lyon 6-String were both subjects. I was experimenting with angling from long end to end shots and close ups.

I put the photographs on the computer and using Picasa 3.9 update I created a collage of four of the photographs. Picasa creates large files with as much detail that is in the photographs as possible. I used the Warmify feature of Picasa to make a more unified color scheme. I then applied the HDR tool to the image.

I also used Corel PSP Pro X3 for some touch up and enhancement, saving the large secondary collage file. I resized to display size to use in Corel PhotoPaint.

In PhotoPaint I removed more noise from the collage as the HDR had made some hot spots on it. I opened Filter Forge's Photo Effects and applied the Grunge tool. This darkened the edges and gave the overall feel I wanted. I added my signature in white and saved again the display iteration.

I have playing my 12-String more often lately and today my fingers are very sore even for typing. I use a pick for strumming and playing leads to jam backtracks from GuitarTricks, which I have a complimentary 30 day subscription. I was invited to this offer recently and I am taking advantage of Acoustic and Blues Guitar lessons, with a touch of DADGAD alternate tuning lessons. It is very enjoyable, but some of the lessons are challenging.

"Heather Fay Singer Songwriter" Corel PSP Pro X3 Plus

Heather Fay

"You may use it Kirk. Please credit ©2012 Kevan Christine w/ a link to the website http://www.kevanchristine.com. Thanks." I received this on my notifications and email about today's image.

As you can see Kevan has taken a wonderful photograph of musician singer, songwriter, Heather Fay. I have listened to Heather's music online and in recorded G+ Hangouts. I really enjoyed her work and look forward to listening to more.

I downloaded the photograph and through Picasa 3.9 I opened with Corel PSP Pro X3 to add Vibrancy to the color and some Softening. Saving that iteration I opened with Corel Painter Photo Essentials 4. Here I used the Watercolor Sketch feature to auto paint the entire image.

I then took the clone tool with soft edges and brought back some detail to the face and other areas of the image. I saved that iteration and reopened with PSP. Here I added a Polaroid frame and a 25 pixel black border. Because this photograph has a copyright, even though I altered it, I did not add my signature to the image.

My thanks to Keven Christine and Heather Fay! I hope they like the image I created from the photograph.

"Vintage Floral with Modern Background" Corel Painter 11 - Plus

Vintage Floral

This image began with a textural background from a blog for textures. I opened with Corel PhotoPaint. I then browsed to my Dover Clip Art and found the Floral Print in black and white. I copied and pasted it onto the radiant rectangle background using the property Multiply. Saving that file I opened with Corel Painter 11.

In Painter I used the WC Drips and Runs brushes for painting in the colors of the flowers. I switched to Camel Oil brushes a small one and painted the pistils and the outlines of the petals with curvatures. I saved that file and opened with Corel PSP Pro X3 to used the Depth of Field feature on the image.

This blurred the surrounding area and left the details of the flowers clearly delineated. I added my signature with the Image, Visible Watermark, and saved the large file.

I reopened in PhotoPaint and using Filter Forge's Frames added a film frame. I saved that file and resampled for display.

"Orange 'Cuda" Corel PhotoPaint - Corel PSP Pro X3

Orange 'Cuda

Here is another photograph from the 2012 AutoRama in Detroit, Michigan. An "Orange 'Cuda," is depicted in a High Contrast image with the use of Depth of Field for the background.

I used the Local Equalization tool in Corel PhotoPaint and then applied the Tone Curve for depth of color. I also used Filter Forge's Photo Effect Vibrance for a punch to the Orange. I saved and reopened with Corel PSP Pro X3 and used the Depth of Field on it along with adding my signature with Visible Watermark. I added a 25 pixel black border and added the black and gray frame in PSP's Picture Frame.

I saved then resized for display here.

"Blue and Yellow Custom" Corel PhotoPaint - Corel PSP Pro X3

Blue and Yellow Custom

I opened this photograph from the 2012 AutoRama with Corel PhotoPaint. I applied the Local Equalization and the Tone Curve for a high contrast image. Saving the image I opened with Corel PSP Pro X3.

Here I used the Vibrancy tool for boosting the color. Then I applied the Depth of Field tool drawing around the car to put the focus on it. I added my signature using the Visible Watermark. And a 25 pixel black border .

This gave me an image focused on the vehicle at a High Contrast and Vibrant colors with Depth of Field.

I saved the large file and resized for display.
