Taylor Guitars One Modern

Had the pleasure of attending the Taylor Guitars Road Show at Motor City Guitars in Waterford, Michigan. They focused on their 800 Series of guitars and also demonstrated a T5z Hybrid Guitar.

I uploaded all the Photographs I took that night to my computer, and opened a couple in Picasa 3.9. I adjusted the tone and color in that program, saving the changes to a new large file. I opened it next in Corel Painter Photo Essentials 4 and selected a painting mode of a Modern Painting, Intense color, Basic paper, Captured brush.

After the painting was finished there I saved it under a new name. That painted Image I opened with Corel PSP Pro X3. There I added Image Information, Title, Copyright, Artist. I also made sure I boosted the colors with the Saturation Vibrancy set at 33. I added my signature and saved that iteration. I resized the image to 800 x 1200 pixels, 72 dpi for display here.

I worked on this late in the night and hope that the posting gets deserved attention. As always please click on the image for a larger view. "My Brother" Corel Painter Photo Essentials 4

My Brother

Working on the laptop today for a change. I browsed to a folder in Picasa 3.9 of some photographs taken in Alaska while visiting family. I found this great photograph of "My Brother." I opened with Corel PhotoPaint and cropped it for a close up. I then resampled to 300dpi to increase the size of the image. I saved it and opened with Corel Painter Photo Essentials 4.

There I tried various auto paint styles and decided that the Modern Painting looked the best. I allowed the program to do all the work, auto painting this style. Since I was on the laptop I didn't have access to my regular signature so I added a watermark in Arial Narrow Italic.

Using Filter Forge's Frames I added a narrow photograph frame to the large image, saved it and re-opened in PhotoPaint to resample to fit display here.

Thinking Spring - Experimental Irises - Painter 11 - PhotoPaint

Here is an experimental image done in Painter 11. I first used an Art Deco background and resampled it to a larger 128dpi size in PhotoPaint. One of my Dover Publications clip art pieces. I then saved that and opened it in Painter 11.

I used the Amazonia brushes for cloning on a quick clone with an ocher background, using Auto clone. I added the Great Crested brush for some looseness. Also I added a texture called "florella" from Flaming Pear.

I opened another image and set it to the clone source. Using the Inkspiration brushes I added the cloned Irises to the background I had created with the Twisted Direction brush.

I was thinking Spring! These Irises came from our own garden photographs.

I finished in PhotoPaint adding two borders one black the other plum. I used the wand on the plum and applied the Effects> Texture> Plastic> for a 3D look.
