"Stone Textured Blonde Woman Portrait Two" Corel

Stone Textured Blonde Woman Portrait Two

While listening to some John Coltrane I worked on another Textured Portrait. The beginning Woman's Portrait came from my MorgueFile samples. The Stone Texture came from Free Friday's Textures.

I opened the portrait file in Corel PhotoPaint. There I adjusted the Threshold to allow more white space for the Texture to show through. I opened the Stone Texture and then copied the altered Woman's Portrait and pasted it on the Texture. I used the Property Multiply to add it to the blended image.

I selected another Watercolor Texture and overlaid that on the Portrait for additional color. A blend of Stone, Portrait, and greens, yellows, blues, oranges. I added my signature in White and saved the large iteration.

I opened that file in Corel PSP Pro X3. Here I added Image Information, Title, Programs used, Sources, etc. I also selected a painted frame with a black border for it. I used Saturation Vibrancy to boost the colors by a third. I then resized for display and saved that iteration.

I finished up listening to Thelonius Monk and John Coltrane from a Jazzland album. Love that Jazz.

"Stone Textured Blonde Woman Portrait" Corel

Stone Textured Blonde Woman Portrait

I was able to garner some very good Free Portrait images from the MorgueFile Site. One of these, along with one of the Stone Textures from the Free Friday Textures I created this image.

I took a Landscape large Texture and opened it in Corel PSP Pro X3. There I modified it with color adjustments and Curves and Saturation Vibrancy tool. It was my first Layer. I opened a Portrait file in PSP Pro X3.

On this layer I altered the Threshold to allow white space to give places for the Texture to show through. I used the Layer copy and Paste as New Layer above the Texture. Using the Layer property Multiply I blended the two Layers. I merged down to one Layer.

I then used Picture Frame for white edging on the image. I added a black border to the image. Using Image Information I added a Title and Programs, etc. Added my signature file in white and I then saved that large iteration to disk.

The EXIF information gives credit for the Texture file and shows my Copyright as well. Corel PSP Pro X3 is a great program for doing such images with textures and portraits photographs.

"Vintage Dodge Truck Digital Watercolor" Corel - Paint.NET

Vintage Dodge Truck

Since I had such an enjoyable time recently painting the Vintage Ford Truck I decided to digitally paint another Vintage Dodge Truck. I first located my folder of truck photographs taken with my Canon Rebel XTi and selected this closeup. I opened it in Paint.NET.

In Paint.NET I applied the Effect, Artistic, Ink Sketch for a Pen and Ink image. I saved that iteration and opened in Corel Painter 11.  Here I chose a basic palette and Watercolor Brushes for the digital painting.

After I saved the finished painting I opened in Corel PSP Pro X3. At this point I applied the Saturation Vibrancy for a boost to the colors. The original photograph was of a dirty, rusty brown color. With the  greater part of the background being foliage I used various greens for that area. I needed some punch to those duller colors. I did not clone paint this I did it Freehand.

I added a brown border and my white signature and with the Image Information added a Title, Copyright, and Camera, plus programs used to the Information.

I saved the large iteration and resized for display. Be sure to click on the image for the larger view!

"Spring Floral Textured May 2009" Missed Spring Michigan - Corel

Spring Floral Textured May 2009

I was looking for some Spring photographs on my external drive. I located this photograph of a neighbors bush in full bloom from May of 2009. In Michigan, this Spring we had so much rain that we missed many of our blossoms. Thus an older photograph.

I opened in Corel PSP Pro X3 and applied the Smart Photo Fix tool. Then I used the Saturation Vibrancy tool for increased color for the blossoms and the cloudy blue sky. I also used the Curves to add depth to the colors.

To add a bit of interest I added a Canvas Texture to the image, right in PSP Pro. I resized the iteration, after saving the large one I added my signature in white, to fit here in the post. Remember to click on the image for the large view.

We now have a lot of Green coming out in our area of Michigan, some days have been warmer, but a number of cooler days have dominated our Spring Time.

I sit here hoping for sunny skies this weekend. Listening to Blues on Pandora. Suits my mood nicely.

"Vintage Ford Rust Orange Truck Six" Impressionist Version - Corel

Vintage Ford Rust Orange Truck Six

I just installed Corel Painter Essentials 4 on my main PC. It allows you to select a painting style. the colors type, the paper roughness, etc. Then you can allow the image to be Auto-painted in that style with your selections.

So one more time I grabbed the Vintage Ford Rust Orange Truck for an image. I opened in Painter Essentials and selected the Impressionistic style with basic color, and Rough Paper. I pressed Start and the program "Painted" the image for me. I saved the large iteration.

I opened it in Corel PSP Pro X3 and used the Saturation Vibrancy tool set at 33 for a boost to the colors, which those of you who read my posts know I like to do. The Orange and Blue and Green's dominated the image.

I added Image Information, Title, Copyright, Camera used and Programs used. I saved that and then resized to display size to post here.

I thought I was done with this series of the Vintage Truck, but I wanted to try out the Auto-Painting of Painter Essentials 4 again. I hope you enjoy the Impressionistic image I have shared.
